From the District’s website (Board Meeting Summaries):
“Lunch prices for the 2008-09 school year have increased. Elementary
lunch platters will cost $2.50 and secondary lunch platters $2.75. A
la carte items will also increase from 5 to 15 cents.
Food Service Director Charles Damiani told the Board of School
Directors in June: ‘I have never seen increases (in food prices) like
those projected for next year. And no one knows what’s going to happen
in succeeding years.’ Soaring food costs coupled with reduced
contributions from the government food programs necessitated the price
increase.
Damiani pointed out that all prices are still below industry standards.
‘This is still a bargain for a good meal.’”
