Help Needed

Sorry this is so last minute but we will be sorting Field Day T-shirts in the cafeteria tonight at 6:30. If you are able to help out that would be great even if is only to sort for 15 minutes. Every little bit helps.

Many thanks go out to the Chatham Park Community for a fabulous day on Saturday.   Chatham Park was able to give the Salvation Army of Norristown a check for $7,000, due to the generosity of our families.  It was a great run, and each and every one of you who walked or ran was a winner!   This event could never go off without the volunteers who help with all aspects of the run.

The May Fair was another amazing event!  The weather held out, and it was a fabulous day of fun for our community.  Again, a HUGE thanks to the volunteers.  None of these events could take place if we did not have a strong volunteer base.   Events like these further remind us how fortunate we are to live in this community of such giving people.

Still Looking for a Few Good Parents…

We are still in need of volunteers for a few key spots next year.  HASA depends on Chatham parents to get involved and help make each year a great one for our school.  Please consider volunteering for a HASA leadership position for the 2013 – 2014 school year.  At this point we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

• Cultural Assemblies Co-Chair - work with an experienced committee member over the summer to line up the assemblies for next year.
• Secretary – help keep an accurate record of HASA activity by attending the monthly HASA meetings and recording the details of any discussions, votes and action items.  See past meeting minutes in the About Us section of the HASA website for examples.

If you have any questions about these positions or would like to take a leadership role in another area of HASA, please contact Peggy Hermann or Gina Szathmary, HASA Co-Presidents for 2013-2014.

Today is Chatham Park’s Staff Appreciation Luncheon.  If you signed up to bring in food or drink items, please drop them off between 8:15 and 9:15 am outside of the cafeteria.  If that time does not work, then please drop them in the cafeteria after 11:30 am on Friday morning.  Thank you!

Looking for a few good parents…

Do you want to have a bigger say in the activities that go on at our school?  Do you want to help make those events a success?  Do you want Chatham Park to be a place that your kids love?  If you answered yes to any or all of these questions, please consider volunteering for a HASA leadership position for the 2013 – 2014 school year.  At this point we are looking for volunteers in the following areas:

• Vice President(s) – one or two people to shadow the Presidents next year and then serve as President for the 2014-2015 school year
• Treasurer – someone who is organized and financially savvy to fill the Treasurer position next year.  Ideally we would like someone to commit to two year for this position.  Our current Treasurer will be available to provide any training and support that would be needed.  This is a very important and rewarding position.
• Cultural Assemblies Co-Chair - work with an experienced committee member over the summer to line up the assemblies for next year.
• Artist in Residence Committee Chair – work with the fifth grade classes to design and implement a lasting art project for the fifth graders to leave as their legacy at the school.  You can use your artistic talent to lead the art project directly or organize the participation of a local artist.  Past projects include the mural in the cafeteria and the mosaic benches by the front and side doors.  This is a great tradition at our school.
