First visit to the Chatham Park Families PTO Manager site? Click on the “New PTO Manager User” link on the bottom right of the welcome page and follow the steps to create an account. If you have used PTO Manager at the middle school, you may use the same email account but must use a different password.

If you have already created an account, please click on “My Information;” type in the family information requested and then be sure to go to the “Step 3 (Students)” tab to enter your child/children’s information.

If you created your account last spring or over the summer, please be sure to revisit “Step 3 (Students)” to enter the correct homeroom for the 2010-2011 school year.

You must enter this information to be included in the Bulldog Browser. To receive a copy of the browser, each family is asked to pay dues of $20 for the year. Your dues help to cover the cost of printing the browser AND pay for the many programs the Home & School Association funds throughout the year. Dues can be paid at Back-to-School Nights (September 14 for K, 1, 2 and September 16 for 3, 4, 5). Dues may also be sent in with your child in an envelope marked “Home & School Dues.”

Volunteers are needed to ‘meet & greet’ at 9:50am, 11:10am, 1:50pm and 3:10pm. You do not have to have a kindergartner to help! Just 15-20 minutes of free time and the desire to welcome the newest Chatham Park students and their parents to our community.

Allston Road, in front of the school will be one-way moving away from Manoa Road. Farnham Road will be one-way moving away from the school and Pineridge Road one-way toward the building. This new pattern will be in effect for a trial period beginning September 7th. These streets will be one way ONLY from 8-9 a.m. and 3-4 p.m.

Residents and parents will have an opportunity to try it out and comment before it is voted upon by the township commissioners.

The mosaic will be created in October but let’s start collecting materials now!

Both nights begin at 7 p.m. Meet your child’s teachers and learn about classroom plans and procedures, homework policies and important contact information. Parents will have the opportunity to ask questions.

Thanks to all who volunteered this year at HASA events. Without active parent involvement, we would not be able to do all of the great activities that HASA plans, participates in and pays for.

For those who weren’t able to help this year, please think about next year. We’ll be calling for volunteers beginning in August. Even an hour of your time makes a difference to all our children. Without your help, we cannot continue to provide all of the wonderful activities for our kids.

Check out the Book Fair for Chatham!

Barnes & Noble will be hosting a book fair to support Chatham Park’s Library. Held at the Broomall store at 1901 Sproul Road, on June 16, 2010 from 10:00 a.m. to 8 p.m., the book fair will have many different books available for summer reading fun! A percentage of the profits will go to Chatham Park’s Library and Reading programs. If you need to stock up on gifts, summer reading lists, and fun activity books for kids, please take a ride over to the Broomall store next Wednesday. Chatham Park thanks you!

We will not be sending home the teacher assignments for next year in the final report card as we have typically done in the past. All 5 elementary schools will be mailing this information home to parents on August 20, 2010.

The reason for the change is that we will have a number of teaching assignments that will change and will not be able to be determined until after school has dismissed for the summer. We also have several situations where class size is on the borderline and additional enrollment could increase the number of sections at a grade level. Sending assignments out in August when things are more defined will prevent children and families from being disappointed because of potential changes.
