HASA is actively looking for one Homeroom parent for each classroom by September 24, 2021.
As ahead homeroom parent, you have a relationship with the teacher and act as a liaison between the teacher and caregivers. Parents look to you to collect money for class gifts via Venmo for the teacher, usually holiday, and at the end of year in a timely manner.
As the head homeroom parent, you can get the class parent email list from the teacher or via AtoZ Connect/Membership Toolkit. Homeroom parents are also expected to post on the grade specific Facebook Page(s) for collections, as well as sharing announcements to the caregivers.
At this time, in-school homeroom parties cannot occur. However, homeroom parents can arrange a meet up outside, after-school, with social distancing guidelines in mind. Parties cannot be organized by the school and the teacher cannot attend, but can be hosted by HASA and head homeroom parents. Classes will get $35 to be used for party supplies. No food can be served. If you are planning on hosting a party that isn’t one of the “typical” holiday parties, please make sure to email email@example.com for budget approval.
Be mindful that everyone has their own comfort level right now, so we will not be asking for party volunteers at this time. Please sign up to be a head homeroom parent for your child’s classroom:
Clearances are a must!
All homeroom parents must have their clearances. Find out all the information needed for clearances to be a homeroom parent.
Thanks again for your consideration to volunteer with HASA at Chatham Park Elementary School this year.
