5th Grade Awards: Spring 2020
This position requires a non-fifth grade parent volunteer.

The volunteer is given a list of awards and the names of the winners by the fifth grade teachers. He/she then orders those awards from a (likely predetermined) award shop and picks them up. The winners are supposed to be a surprise for the fifth graders and their parents, which is why it needs to be a non-fifth grade parent volunteer. There are also light refreshments to order and pick up.

This event takes place in May before graduation.

May Fair Shadow: Spring 2020
This individual will work closely with Christina Duff this year with the intention of taking over the May Fair for 2021. This role is a longer and larger commitment for the right person who is organized and loves to plan events. You can be copied on all communication regarding May Fair this year to give you an idea of what is involved for next year. The benefit of being a shadow this year is that you will have access to the current May Fair chair for contacts, tips, and process questions to make planning the event easier.
Basic WordPress Developer and Graphic Designer: 2020/2021 School Year

The chathamparkfamilies.org site is built using WordPress. HASA is looking for a admin to take over all web site updates including header and banner designs. All information will be provided by HASA board with a realistic turnaround time. Basic graphic design and web site development is a must.

Young Writers Day Chairs 2020/2021

HASA is looking for two to three volunteers to act as a liaison between the organizer of Young Writers Day (Mary Beth Lauer) and the school for HASA. Mary Beth arranges all the classroom presenters and assembly person. We work with the school organizing the 5th grade writer escorts and logistics/timing of the day. We work with HASA to get the checks for the payment of the writers/assembly and contributions for the teacher/writer luncheon. Young Writers Day has historically been a Friday in April. You do need to be available to be at school the entire day of Young Writers Day. Most of the work is done the 4-6 weeks leading up to it. If someone is interested and attend this April 17 to meet Mary Beth and get a feel for the day, that would be beneficial.
