HASA Update

HASA Meeting Wednesday

The next Home & School Association meeting will be this Wednesday, March 28, at 7pm in the school library. Agenda items will include Principal Marsella’s update on anticipated building renovations and projections for 2012-13 enrollment and HASA Event/Activity updates from committee leaders.  We may also have information regarding the School District of Haverford Township 2012-13 budget. The tentative agenda can be found here. If you would like to have something added to the agenda, please click here to submit your topic or question.

Meetings are typically under an hour long. Attending is a great way to get involved and have an impact on all that is going on at Chatham Park.

Young Writers Day is this Friday

Nineteen poets, lyricists and authors will be visiting Chatham Park Elementary this Friday, March 30, for our annual Young Writers Day.  In the morning each homeroom will have at least one writer join their classroom for a time to discuss what it’s like to be a writer and to work on a project with the students.

In the afternoon students will enjoy an assembly with storyteller Vicky Town who blends humor, mime, and audience participation to create a delightful and zany cast of characters.  Her stories include international folk and fairy tales, stories of magic and enchantment, and stories of the courageous and the clever.  Morning kindergarteners are invited to attend the assembly at 1:30pm with their parent or caregiver.

Don’t forget to ask your child what they learned from the writers they met on Friday!

The key to raising money for the Norristown Salvation Army is sponsors.  We know many of you and your families and friends own businesses and provide services to Chatham families. To make this wonderful event a success- WE NEED YOUR HELP! Click here to review the sponsorship forms.

We have donated over $70,000 in the past 13 years and this year the Salvation Army Family Shelter System needs our help more than ever. We have been recognized as the Family Shelter System’s greatest annual contributor and in order to continue that tradition we need your assistance!
