Maniac Magee

Despite the rain, the 20th Annual Maniac Magee was a huge success. Thank you to all of the volunteers, runners, and walkers who came out and took part in this special event.  With the help of our incredible sponsors and participants, we were able to raise $8200 for the Salvation Army of Norristown Family Homeless Shelter.  I included the race results below, and Ms Christianson will be announcing them during the morning announcements on Monday. She will be handing out the medals to the participants who didn’t get them on Saturday.  There are two results below. One includes the award winners,  and one includes the overall results.  The PR manager from the Salvation Army, Alexandra Ferber, sent us pictures she took during the race.  Here is the link to the photos: My Photos.  Stacey Himes was able to connect with The Patch and they wrote a nice article about the race. Here is that link: Chatham Park Families Brave Rain for the 20th “Maniac Magee” Run. One last thing, Ms Divalerio’s 4th grade class won the water ice party because they had the most registrants for the Maniac Magee.  Way to go!  Thank you again for another great year.

Mayfair is this weekend! (Also see exciting announcement about Nelle Bush bags at Mayfair)

Two updates below:  1. Important Mayfair announcements   2. A message from Nelle Bush bags about her collaboration with Chatham Park and the community  🙂
Mayfair:
May Fair – A reminder that May Fair is rain or shine!  We are going to try and have early wristband pickup available Friday afternoon after school (I will email those that have purchased wristbands to confirm).  Everyone else can begin picking up wristbands Saturday morning at 9am.

Volunteers – We’ve a fun day planned with a live hula show, the Phillie Phanatic, teacher/faculty splash booth, raffles, and games, food, and prizes!  To make this day possible, we need parent volunteers!!!!  I know May is hectic, but we are desperately in need of volunteers to help run the event.  Please consider signing up for a time slot; your support is needed to make this event run smoothly.  Clearances are not needed for May Fair volunteers.  Chatham Alumni, grandparents, parents, older siblings, those in need of volunteer hours, etc. are all welcome.  The signup genius can be found here:
https://www.signupgenius.com/go/9040545acaa29ab9-aloha

Can’t wait for Saturday and the fun filled day we’ve planned!  Please consider volunteering for any job & time slot you’re available.

Thanks for your support!

BUY A TOTE BAG, MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

$10 each at the May Fair

As part of the Artist in Residence Project this year, the 5th Grade Students have been working on making beautiful Tote Bags from their own original fabric designs!

The bags will be for sale at the May Fair for $10 each– all of the proceeds donated to charity.

In the coming weeks, the 5th graders will be working with the TLC Food Pantry of Havertown, and delivering some of their tote bags filled with donated food items.

Also, as an international service component, we have partnered with a group at Drexel University that will be traveling to Haiti and working with the Love Orphanage.  Some tote bags will be filled with essentials for the children and delivered to them.
